Osaka Miss has broke her Maiden status with an emphatic win at Ipswich today, recording a three and a half length win in the 2150m Maiden.
Starting at the top of the straight, Osaka Miss, ridden by Samantha Collett, was able to get into her own rhythm early on and as they passed the post for the first time, was midfield on the fence, some 5-6 length from the leading horses.
Travelling comfortable, Collett was happy to hold her position through the mid stages of the race before easing off the fence approaching the 600m.
From that point on, the daughter of Real Impact, began to make ground stylishly and two hundred metres later, on the point of the home turn, she was chiming in with the leading pair three wide and with a head full of steam.
In the run to the line, Osaka continued to build on her margin which had widened to 3.6 as they crossed the line.
“That was a good win, she was second up from a break over 2150m which was a tough ask, but she ran well first up here over the mile and got a lovely ride from Samantha who put her to sleep early before making her play from the 600m.
