The Equalizer scored an impressive victory at Eagle Farm this afternoon.
The Stratum 3yo was only having his third start for the stable.
Ridden by Jimmy Orman, The Equalizer had no luck from the wide barrier, settled mid field and was posted three wide for the entire race.
Orman kept cool and held him together during the race, approaching the turn, he tracked up forward on the bridle pulling Orman into the race and let down with a great turn of foot to hold off the Tony Gollan trained favourite Dame Van Winkle by three quarters of a length.
It was The Equalizers third start for the stable after finishing a close 3rd at the Sunshine Coast the start prior.
