Luck finally went Meteorologists way on Saturday winning the $65,000 Direct Connect One Metro Win Handicap over 1800m at the Gold Coast's stand alone metropolitan meeting.
Jockey Jim Byrne gave Meteorologist a beautiful ride from barrier 10 slotting him in one off the fence in 9th position in a field of 12 runners.
Approaching the half mile, Byrne gave him plenty of room to wind up his momentum and the eighteen plus hands high giant stormed down the middle of the track to win by three quarters of a length.
He has been racing very well lately with no luck. ''Wilson said"
" Last start he spotted the leaders 15 lengths at the top of the straight and finished off well only beaten 2.9 lengths from the winner"
"He was always going to be hard to beat back on his home track especially with his great record at the track and distance"

Meteorologist recorded his 5th win and has banked over $100,000 in prizemoney for connections.
He was purchased by Wilson at the Magic Millions March QTIS Yearling Sale for only $8,000
