The Marcus Wilson trained Regal Trader won impressively over 1200m at the Gold Coast on Saturday.

First up for over a year and having his first start for the new stable, Regal Trader gapped his rivals to win eased down by 2.8 lengths.

Ridden perfect by Terry Treichel, Regal Trader ran good time in clocking 34.64 for his last 600m.

It was a very soft win, he trialled super leading into this and his work at home has been impressive with higher class horses in my stable, he was always going to be very hard to beat, Wilson said.

Owned by Australian and Hong Kong interests, Regal Trader had plenty of stable support.

Regal Trader is by Zizou from the stakes winning race mare Corporate Queen.
