Mantras earnd a well deserved win on Sunday at the Sunshine Coast when he took out the maiden plate over 1600m.

Mantras, owned by Hunter Valley publican Graham Payne, sent the 4yo gelding up to the Marcus Wilson Stable on the Gold Coast in late Jan with the plan of setting him for his maiden win.

Mantras was very unlucky the start before at Eagle Farm but bounced back on Sunday to get the cash backed from $8 into $3 favourite.

Ridden a treat from barrier one by Former Sydney hoop Jackson Morris, the horse travelled well in the box seat position, guided by a patient ride, Morris stuck to the fence to get a rails run shortly after entering the straight to run away with an easy two and half length win.
